About The Black Voters Guild
I can't breath...
The irony is beyond notice. the two most impactful events in America today is the historical failure of the the Trump administration as he blundered the management of the COVID-19 crisis. Sadly, more African Americans are stricken by the ravages of this disease than any other group. Imagine the horrors and fears as those in the thousands of hospital beds cried out, I can't breathe. the same words were spoken by George Floyd.
We will not let these killers take our breath away.
BLACK VOTES MATTER
Correspondent Charles D. Ellison of the Philadelphia Tribune reported in his November 12, 2016 article, "Black voter turnout: A look at the numbers" reported that over 6,000,000 eligible voters did not vote in the 2016 Presidential election.
Stop and imagine briefly just how different the outcome would have been.
Also consider that the then Republican candidate, Donald Trump suffered a staggering 90% disapproval rate in the African American community at and before the time of his election, Had we collectively generated a greater movement there would have been a very different outcome.
Donald J. Trump would have obviously never been elected.
This is the realty of African American power and influence. Black Votes Matter.
Engagement and Accountability
an Editorial by W Glen

During the closing of the Constitutional Convention of 1787, Benjamin Franklin was asked if we have a republic or a monarchy? Franklin replied, "A republic, if you can keep it. "
On December 17, 1814 John Adam's wrote in a letter to John Taylor, "There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide."
Never have truer sentiments been expressed in reference to the American democratic process, as exemplified in the Senate impeachment trial of President Donald J trump; in which the evidence presented revealed no distinguishable differences between our Commander in Chief, Russian oligarchs and organized crime figures, our elected Republican Representatives and their misinformed redneck constituency.
Since its founding, this country has been in the process of slowly being dismantled in a civil war between the tyrannical aspirations of the few who have, with their insatiable greed and need for control, versus the democratic process and rule of law held sacred by the have nots; with the kidnapped and enslaved African and the internally displaced indigenous existing merely as cannon fodder and collateral damage.
For far too long, we of African descent have been cajoled into voting against our best self interests; attempting to show ourselves approved as good patriots and citizens in response to an ignorance, hatred and bigotry that can never be appeased.
For too long we have cast votes based on the charades of religious charlatans and archaic scriptures, hoping for some sort of eternal reward, instead of loving and supporting those in our presence, unconditionally.
For far too long our vote has been taken for granted, for which we've received nothing in return, because all we've done is pray and forgive as opposed to holding our elected representative's feet to the fire.
Abortion is not a black issue. Gay marriage is not a black issue. Immigration is not a black issue; yet we keep finding ourselves distracted with these concerns which continue to remove our self preservation from the forefront.
Education, the industrial prison complex with it's school to prison pipeline, the abuse and extrajudicial killings by law enforcement, unemployment and equal compensation, fair housing, gerrymandering and voter suppression; these are just a few basic issues that have been at the heart of our public discourse for over half a century.
As a black electorate and the conscience of the nation, our sole purpose should be in the election of representatives who will assist in promoting the agenda of black Americans; for as the interests of black America goes, so goes the best interests and longevity of this far from perfect union.
To paraphrase Benjamin Franklin, we have a republic, a nation built on the principle of the rule of law; whether or not we can keep it is up to you.
If it looks like a duck
If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck. Similarly if it looks like genocide, feels like genocide and functions like genocide it's probably genocide.
We have all been suddenly stunned by the shocking and appalling numbers that are coming out of the CDC, in reference to the comparative numbers of Black patients contracting and dying from Covid-19 as compared to other affected groups.
Genocide is defined as the deliberate killing of a large group of people, especially those of a particular ethnic group or nation.
"a campaign of genocide"
As I walk the streets of our community I have noticed that what started off as whispers about it, is becoming a more audible inquiry.
After the landslide Biden turnaround in the 2020 South Carolina primary election, more and more people are realizing the magnitude of the power that black voters can wield. As a result we can expect massive Republican efforts to maximize voter suppression. We have to ask the horrible question, is the management of Coronavirus a genocidal method of voter suppression?
